Zebras are primarily grazers and can subsist on lower-quality vegetation. They are preyed on mainly by lions and typically flee when threatened but also bite and kick. Zebra species differ in social behavior, with plains and mountain zebra living in stable harems consisting of an adult male or stallion, several adult females or mares, and their young or foals; while Grévy's zebra live alone or in loosely associated herds. In harem-holding species, adult females mate only with their harem stallion, while male Grévy's zebras establish territories which attract females and the species is promiscuous. Zebras communicate with various vocalizations, body postures and facial expressions. Social grooming strengthens social bonds in plains and mountain zebras.

08-27-23 Up at around 1 AM in terrible pain in my left leg. Waited all night till around 5 AM when I told my husband that I could not walk. He took me to the Emergency room of our local hospital. And we waited. Around 11 AM I was taken to Ultrasound and then Radiology. Nothing showed up but after speaking to the doctor we both agreed that I probably strained a tendon. I was given pain meds and we got home around 2 PM - my dog was very happy to see us. Able to walk without a cane by Sunday.
