Description
Meet Max. I met this wonderful gentleman in 2004. He was the most laid-back, calm dog I've ever known. When we went to the local kennel (my dog was diagnosed with cancer and didn't have very long) because I couldn't stand a house without a dog.. he just sat there looking at me. I just assumed he was a pit/shar pei mix because of his build.
The first friend he made was a squirrel! The critter was walking along our fence and they met nose to nose and spent the next 7 years greeting each other daily (it may have been offspring).
In 2011 Max had a stroke and went blind along with the intense fear it generated. No quality of life left so we had to let him go. He will be missed for the rest of my life.. you only find one like him once in a lifetime!
Complete 2011 after 10.57 hours spread over 10 days.

Barbara, this is such a beautiful portrait. He must have a such a sweet disposition to go with those eyes!
Barbara Keith replied:
He is the calmest, sweetest dog I've ever owned. Oops.. let me correct that - Dog that's ever owned ME!
